proHRO Conference 2011: November 15th in The Hague

The proHRO Conference on November 15 was very succesful. We had over 200 attendees, of which 50 % foreigners! Check more on pictures, handouts and evaluations on this website.

proHRO Conferences open the floor to all professionals who are concerned with reliability challenges. Experts come from very different fields like police, chemical industry, child care, production or process industry and deal with risk management, quality, safety or the controlling of financial performance.

How may High Reliability Organizing be adapted to different societal and industrial sectors? HRO Conferences provide the platform to share and reflect on proven HRO experiences and further develop HRO practices.

The 2011 conference introduces High Reliability Organizing (HRO) to a wider audience from different industries:

  • What is High Reliability Organizing about? What are the main principles and conditions for HRO?

  • What pioneer experiences are out there to learn from? What is the business case for HRO?

  • How do we translate High Reliability Organizing experiences and research on nuclear power plants, flight carriers or hospitals to other sectors such as policing, peace operations, high tech production, servicing, finance, transportation, community development, care?

  • How should existing, control-oriented approaches to quality, safety or risk management be challenged to manage the unexpected?

  • What are leadership and organizational challenges to implement High Reliability Organizing? For example: How may trade-offs between safety, profit, efficiency, customer satisfaction and reliability be balanced?
